My drafting team swore by manual sketches until last quarter
I watched our design time drop from 6 hours per floor plan to just 20 minutes after we switched to an AI layout generator. The before was all red pen marks and late nights, the after is auto-generated options we tweak in seconds. Is this speed worth the risk of losing the human touch on smaller residential jobs?
Oh I actually read about this somewhere, @christopher713, where a small contractor tried it for a tiny basement reno and the AI caught a code issue they'd have missed. The trick is it's not replacing the brain, just the busywork of redrawing stuff that already works. So you still gotta eyeball the final output, but yeah the time savings are wild on jobs you've done a hundred times before.
