Overheard a kid call ChatGPT 'old tech' and I felt ancient for a second

My nephew last weekend said something about 'legacy AI' like it was a flip phone, and it hit me that I remember when GPT-3 first blew my mind in 2020, so what newer thing are people using now that makes that look dated, and has anyone else felt that weird timeline shift?
