Dropped $60 on a cheap air fryer that died in 3 cooks, did I just buy the wrong thing?
Bought a $58 air fryer off a deal site back in March because I wanted to try the whole crispy chicken thigh thing. Third time using it, the basket coating started peeling off into my food and the fan made this awful grinding noise. Took it back to the store and the guy at the counter just shrugged and said that model gets returned a lot. So now I'm out the gas money and a Saturday afternoon, and I still want crispy thighs. My sister has a $140 one she's used pretty much daily for a year with zero issues, but I don't want to dump that much if I'm missing something basic. Is there a price point where these things stop falling apart, or is it all luck of the draw? Also open to just going back to my sheet pan if the cheap ones are all junk.
