Fuel line snag in Phoenix changed my preflight routine
Tbh, I was doing a quick turnaround in Phoenix last month and a fuel line fitting looked fine from the outside. Turned out it was cross-threaded and started weeping right after pushback. The captain caught it on a walkaround and we had to swap the whole assembly, cost the airline about 4 hours and a hotel for the crew. Since then I always take the extra 2 minutes to feel the fitting threads and check for any wetness around the collar. Has anyone else had a small inspection step save them from a bigger mess like that?
