Appreciation post: The old-timer who swore by hardwired contacts in 2021
I mean, everyone was pushing wireless sensors three years ago, but this installer in Phoenix kept using hardwired contacts on every door. Last week, I finally saw why when a client's wireless system dropped signals during a storm, but the hardwired loop stayed solid. Anyone still running wire for basic perimeter coverage?

Wireless tech has come a long way since 2021 though.

Playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers is right. That medal should just be a spool of wire.

Honestly, that Phoenix guy was playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers! All that hype about wireless being the future, and a little rain shows its true colors. I guess sometimes the old ways are just... better. That installer deserves a medal for ignoring the trend and sticking with what works.
