TIL a closed school in Toledo taught me to wire motion sensors away from the HVAC vents
I was doing a walkthrough at an old school in Toledo last Tuesday that they're turning into offices, and the janitor pointed out why their old sensors kept tripping. Every motion detector in that building sat within 4 feet of a ceiling vent. When the heat kicked on, the warm air moved just enough to set them off. I moved my last 3 installs to the opposite wall and no false alarms yet. Anyone else run into this on retrofits with high ceilings?
