Lamp repair guy laughed at my turntable fix

Brought my 1979 Dual turntable into a repair shop in Portland to get the tonearm counterweight looked at, and the guy spent 5 minutes telling me my solder job was 'cute' before even touching it. Has anyone else had a tech treat you like a hobbyist instead of a customer when you bring in something you already tried to fix yourself?

CUTE?? A grown man called your soldering "cute" like it's a kindergarten art project. That's wild. I'd be so annoyed, you paid for a repair not a comedy show.
