Why does nobody talk about the little screw on the back of a Walkman that controls tape speed?
Last week I picked up a beat up Sony WM-EX194 at a garage sale in Modesto for $4 and it played everything way too fast, like Alvin and the Chipmunks fast. I popped the back cover off and found a tiny pot labeled RV601, gave it a quarter turn with a jeweler's screwdriver, and suddenly it played perfect. Has anyone else run into a speed pot on these later models, or is it just the older ones that hide them?
