My downstairs neighbor called me out for using citrus peels in my bin
She said the smell was drifting into her bedroom window at night, so now I freeze all my citrus scraps for 24 hours before adding them, has anyone else run into that issue with acidic scraps messing with the balance and attracting fruit flies more than usual?

Lowkey that freezing trick is smart but have you thought about whether the neighbor is actually mad about the smell or just looking to start something? Citrus smells like Lysol to most people, not trash.
