My neighbor knocked on my door to tell me my bokashi bucket was 'seeping,' and I've been paranoid ever since
I've been running a bokashi setup under my sink in a 2 gallon bucket for about 5 months and it's been great, no smell, no fruit flies, nothing. Then last Thursday my neighbor Marta caught me in the hallway and said she could smell something 'sour' coming through the wall, and asked if I was fermenting cabbage. I panicked and checked my bucket right away, and yeah, the tap was dripping a tiny bit of liquid into the tray and I'd been ignoring it. Now I'm emptying the tap every other day and double bagging the finished stuff before it goes to the community garden bin, but I still feel weird about it. Has anyone else had a neighbor complain about a smell you genuinely couldn't detect yourself?
