PSA: Stop yanking the dryer vent hose off before you check the lint trap housing
Had a call out to a place off Vine St in Toledo on Tuesday where the guy swore his dryer was dead, and he'd already pulled the vent hose off twice looking for a clog that wasn't there. Turned out a sock had slipped past the lint screen and wedged itself right in the housing opening, so the air couldn't get out and the thermal fuse popped. He spent $28 on a new hose he didn't need and I had a $3 fuse in my van the whole time. I see this about once a month now, folks jump straight to the hose because it's the easy thing to reach. How many of you check the housing before you mess with the vent run?
