Finally caved on a $620 pole pruner, wow what a difference
I spent years fighting with a manual pole saw on big dead limbs. Last month I grabbed a gas powered one on sale and it cut my time on a big oak job in half. The first few cuts felt sketchy with the weight but once I got the hang of it, worth every penny. It paid for itself after maybe 4 jobs since I stopped billing the extra hour. Anybody else make the jump from manual to powered and wish they did it sooner or regret it?
Watched a buddy drop 600 bucks on one and he still fights it on the steep stuff where a lighter manual saw would've been done in 2 minutes. Half the time those dead limbs are just above a fence or roof where you can't get the right angle with all that weight swinging around. Save the money and put it toward a good ladder and a sharp Silky, or better yet just sub out the scary stuff.
