I cut down 47 dead ash trees in one summer and it changed how I quote removals
EAB wiped out every ash on a 60 acre property near Delaware, Ohio, and by tree 40 I had my drop zone routine down to about 12 minutes each. The thing nobody warns you about is how fast a standing dead ash goes punky at the base, I nearly lost one to a barber chair on day 3 because I trusted the hinge like it was green wood. Anybody else pricing dead ash removals higher than live ones, or am I overthinking the rot factor?
Punky at the base is putting it nicely, those things turn to styrofoam by August. Charging live wood prices for dead ash is basically charity work with extra steps.
