Can we talk about the Sandwich Notch Road sign that says it's 'maintained' in winter?
So I'm planning a move up near Plymouth next spring and someone in a Facebook group told me Sandwich Notch Road is a legit shortcut over to the Waterville area. I looked it up and found out it's a Class VI road, which basically means the town doesn't have to touch it, and the forest service sign at the bottom actually warns you not to try it in bad weather. My cousin drove it in his stock Tacoma in October and said he scraped bottom twice just from ruts. Does anyone actually use this road, or is it one of those things only locals with lifted trucks touch? I'd rather not find out the hard way with a U-Haul.
