Rant: my first January in Concord cost me a $400 bumper and a cracked windshield in one week
Moved up from Virginia last fall and thought I was ready for winter. Then the week of January 15th hit with two ice storms back to back and I slid into a snowbank on Loudon Road coming home from work, which cracked my front bumper and took out a headlight. Three days later a plow threw a chunk of ice off the shoulder on I-93 and put a foot long crack in my windshield. Between the body shop and the glass guy I'm out about $400 after my deductible. Nobody warned me about the ice chunks coming off plows, that one really got me. Do folks up here run a beater in winter and keep the good car parked, or am I just unlucky my first season?
