Just realized asking 'what's the worst that could happen?' in this community gets way better answers

I tried it on a post about fixing a leaky faucet last week and got 3 replies with actual plumbing horror stories that helped me avoid a huge mess. Anyone else have a specific question prompt that always works here?

My last plumbing question got me a five paragraph saga about a guy's flooded basement, and I just needed to know if plumber's tape was the right call.

You think that's the best way to get good answers? I find it just gets people competing for the most dramatic story. For a simple faucet fix, you might get a tale about a whole house flood when you just needed to know which washer to buy. I've had better luck just asking for the most common mistake to avoid. It cuts out the noise and gets straight to practical tips.

Whole house flood" from a washer? That's a new one.
