Question about the weird tile pattern I found at the La Quinta in Tulsa

I stayed at a La Quinta in Tulsa last weekend for a quick road trip stop. The bathroom had this strange tile pattern on the floor, like a mix of brown and orange squares that didn't line up right. It bothered me so much I actually took a picture and looked it up later. Turns out it might be a remnant of a 1970s renovation that never got updated properly. Now I'm curious how many other motels just leave old design choices in place. Has anyone else noticed weird decor or layouts at budget hotels that make you question the place?

ugh this is totally my thing. i stayed at a super 8 in albuquerque two years ago and the whole place felt like a time capsule from 1983. the carpet in the lobby was this burgundy and gold pattern that looked exactly like something out of a grandma's basement. the weirdest part was the wallpaper border in the room, it had these little ducks wearing bonnets that were definitely not ironic. i took a picture too because i couldn't believe someone actually installed it in this century. budget hotels must have a secret rule where they just never update anything unless it literally falls apart.

Lol right?! The duck wallpaper is peak budget hotel preservation.
