Vent: My one good day last month got ruined by a $35 mistake

I had this one Tuesday where everything was looking up. Woke up early, got a big order from a repeat client, found a parking spot right out front. Even the weather was perfect. Then I grabbed the wrong junction box from the van because I was rushing. It was a size 1900 instead of the 4x4 I needed. Cost me an extra trip back to the supply house and lost me 2 hours on the job. Just one dumb little thing threw the whole week off. Has anyone else had a single tiny screw up wreck a perfect day?

Wait was the mistake really that tiny if it cost two hours of billable time?

The real killer isn't the mistake itself, it's the culture where nobody double-checks a thing before sending it up the chain. Two hours burned because someone was too rushed or too scared to just look at their work for 30 seconds.
