Realized my star tracking was backwards after 3 months of blurry galaxy shots

Spent 90 nights blaming my tripod and shutter speeds, then a random comment on a Discord server about polar alignment made me flip my finder scope orientation and suddenly the Horsehead Nebula came out sharp.

That "random comment" bit hits so hard because it's always the dumb simple thing that fixes everything. Once you flip that finder scope and realize the mount was fighting you the whole time, you start wondering how many other little setup mistakes are hiding in plain sight. Honestly, I'd bet a lot of people with "bad tripods" actually have backwards or misaligned finder scopes and just never check that part. The fact you went 90 nights though, that's some serious dedication to the blur. Now you get to redo all those targets with the right tracking and it's gonna feel like a whole new hobby.
