Spent 3 months shooting stars through my window before I figured out the double pane glass was wrecking them
I got into astrophotography back in January and could not figure out why all my shots of Orion came out soft and slightly doubled. I blamed my tripod, my focus, even returned a $200 lens over it. Then a guy at the local astronomy club in Tucson asked if I was shooting through glass, and I admitted I'd been doing it from my bedroom window the whole time because it was cold out. Never felt so dumb, has anyone else shot through a window without thinking about it?
