The creek behind our Alpharetta fence came up 8 inches overnight and taught me a hard lesson about grading
Two weeks ago we got that big storm system and I woke up to standing water halfway up my backyard fence posts in Alpharetta. I walked out in my work boots and watched it creep toward the house, so I spent the morning digging a shallow trench with a spade to push the water toward the storm drain on the street corner. It worked, but I pulled a muscle in my back and my neighbor Tom came over with his tractor to help move the last of the dirt. Turns out the builder never graded that back corner right when the subdivision went in back in 2004. Has anyone here dealt with a drainage easement issue like this, and did the county actually help or did you have to hire your own guy?
