Swapped out a hand impact driver for a cordless one on a seized rotor bolt and holy crap the difference

Spent 45 minutes cursing at a Ford F-150's rear brake job last Saturday with a hand impact that just bounced off, then my buddy handed me his Milwaukee M12 Fuel and the bolt came loose in like 3 seconds, has anyone else switched to battery tools for suspension work and felt like an idiot for waiting so long?

Ngl, felt the exact same way when I swapped out my hand impact for a cordless one on a rusty Tacoma control arm.

Man, a cordless on a rusty Tacoma arm? That’s wild to me. I’ve been burned so many times by impact drivers just buzzing and rattling while the bolt laughs at you. My neighbor tried that once on his old Ford and we ended up having to torch the thing off anyway. I mean, I get the appeal, no air hose and all that, but I’m still a hand tool guy for suspension stuff. Maybe my wrists are just too used to the abuse, but I’ll take the controlled twist over the random hammering any day. Good on you if it actually worked though, seriously, that’s a small miracle in my book.
