A lead in Wichita made me redo my whole crimp setup and I hate that he was right
About 6 months ago a lead walked past my bench and asked why I was still using a ratcheting crimper on cannon plugs. He said "that thing is for cars, not airplanes" and pulled out the 4-indent tool, then made me redo 12 pins on a harness I already signed off. I was mad for a week, but I went back and checked my old work with a pull test and 3 out of 10 pins failed the spec. Now the ratcheting crimper sits in the bottom drawer and I verify every single pin with the go/no-go gauge before it goes in the bundle. What tool did somebody have to shame you into switching to?
