Am I the only one who thinks we over-rely on digital troubleshooting tablets?
I spent 6 months chasing a bad antenna connection on a King Air 350 in Wichita, always checking the tablet first like it was gospel. One day I just unplugged the coax and re-terminated it myself on a hunch, and the problem vanished. Makes me wonder if we lean too hard on those diagnostics when the old eyeball and a multimeter would work faster. Anyone else ditch the tablet approach for something simpler?

Used to think those tablets were the best thing since sliced bread, but your antenna story totally changed my mind. Now I start with the basic stuff like wiggling wires and checking connections before I even power up the diagnostic tablet. Sometimes the old school methods just cut through the noise faster.

Haha "cut through the noise" - that's exactly it. I had this one truck that was throwing a weird code and I spent like an hour with the tablet chasing shadows. Finally got frustrated yanked the air filter out and found a mouse nest the size of a softball stuffed in there. Cleaned it out and the thing ran perfect. All that fancy tech and the fix was basically just cleaning out trash. Now I always tell the guys to start at the dumb stuff first - loose grounds, dirty terminals, bad fuses. Saves so much headache.
