Had a real wake-up call with a nav system on a Citation in Phoenix last month

I was doing a post-install check on a Garmin GTN 750 and got a weird 'database mismatch' error on the ground. The plane was supposed to leave in two hours. Turns out the shop that did the initial software load used a file from the wrong week, so the nav data and the unit's internal calendar were fighting. We had to pull the card, re-download the correct cycle from the dealer portal, and reload it all. Anyone else run into a time sync issue like that after an avionics update?

Always check the cycle date first.

My old apartment fridge had a half gallon of milk from 2022. It's like people see a sealed container and their brain just shuts off. I've found expired medicine, rusty tools, all because nobody looks at dates or condition before they grab something.

What's the worst thing you've found by not checking it?
