TIL a 25 year bench tech in Wichita showed me why my coax crimps kept failing at the connector nut
Had a long talk with a guy named Ray at our shop in Wichita who has been on the bench since 1998. He told me I was over tightening the crimp tool and crushing the dielectric, which is why my SWR checks kept drifting on the VHF radios. I went back and redid 6 antenna leads with lighter pressure and every one passed. Anyone else got a small habit like that which fixed a problem you blamed on the parts?
