Heads up about the water crossing on the West Fork trail near Sedona

Everyone keeps marking it as knee-deep on AllTrails, but after the spring melt it's easily waist-high and moving fast... I had to turn back with a full pack last weekend. Anyone else run into this or know a safe detour?

Check the official forest service site for current conditions.

Yeah, checking the official site like @the_karen said is the only safe move. I got caught in a sudden closure at Maple Pass last fall, total bummer. Those pages have the real details on snow, fires, or washed out trails.

Totally agree about the official sites. I've also started checking local hiking groups on Facebook, rangers sometimes post updates there before the main site gets updated.
