Cheap auger bit versus the good one, night and day
I was digging post holes for a new fence line last weekend and my $15 auger bit from the hardware store kept binding up every few inches. After an hour I borrowed my neighbor's $60 Irwin bit and it cut through the same clay like butter. The difference was the cutting edge angle and how the flutes cleared the dirt, the cheap one just packed up solid. Has anyone else had a tool upgrade that saved them a whole afternoon?
