Just got 12 eggs from my three hens in one day
My three Buff Orpingtons, all about two years old, laid a dozen eggs total last Tuesday. That's four each, which I didn't think was possible. It happened after a week of really warm weather here in Charlotte. Has anyone else seen a short burst like this from a small flock?

Wow, that's wild but honestly sounds like a counting mix-up to me. A hen just can't lay four eggs in one day, their bodies don't work that fast. Maybe a neighbor's hen visited or you found a hidden stash?

My aunt's farm in Ohio had a hen lay two eggs once, which was already super rare. Four eggs in a day is basically impossible without some other explanation. Jennifer's probably right about a hidden stash or another bird getting in the coop. You'd be surprised how sneaky chickens can be with their egg spots.
