TIL a $45 heated water bowl was the best money I spent on chickens this winter
Bought a heated water bowl at Tractor Supply back in November for $45, mostly because I was tired of chipping ice out of the old one with a hammer at 6am. Figured it might last a season. Then we got that cold snap where it sat at 12 degrees for four days straight and the thing never quit. My hens drank like nothing was wrong while my neighbor's regular bowl froze solid and she was hauling warm water out in a thermos. Now I'm wondering what other winter gear I've been cheaping out on, any of you got a heated thing that actually earned its keep?
