Took me 7 months to figure out why my hens stopped laying and it was the dumbest fix
I kept blaming the feed, then the heat, then I bought a $60 light timer I didn't need. Turned out a possum had been getting in through a gap under the coop I walked past every single day. Fixed it with $4 of hardware cloth in about 10 minutes. Has anyone else had a predator you missed for way too long?
Did you at least try blaming the weather first? I sure did. Bought two fans for my coop last summer and a new waterer. Turned out a raccoon was just helping himself every night through a hole behind the nesting boxes. I walked right past that hole for months. The worst part is I found it while looking for something else. Cheap fix, expensive lesson.
