Can we talk about the moment you realized your red light was the problem?
I spent 6 months in Phoenix wondering why my night vision was so terrible until I noticed the little red LED on my power strip was lighting up my whole dark-adaptation process, so what's the one thing you didn't realize was messing with your view?

Oh man, that reminds me of trying to watch a meteor shower last summer... my neighbor's new solar-powered garden light was this tiny, piercing blue beacon that ruined everything. Took me an hour to figure out where that glow was even coming from.

Ugh, that's the worst! It's crazy how one little light can wreck your whole night vision. I had a streetlight replaced with a brighter LED model last year and it basically turned my backyard into a daytime scene. So much for stargazing.
