I finally saw how dark the sky gets just 20 miles out of Fort Worth
Drove out to a buddy's land near Poolville last weekend and the Milky Way was actually visible, faint but there. Back in my own yard in Fort Worth I'm lucky to pick out the Big Dipper on a good night. Now I'm wondering if a light pollution filter would help much from my driveway or if that's just throwing money at a bad spot. What's the closest spot you all have found to a big city where the sky actually opens up?
