Showerthought: My $40 telescope tripod tipped over mid-view and I ended up stargazing through a laundry basket
Halfway through lining up Jupiter last Saturday, a gust knocked the tripod over and snapped the mount clean off. I panicked and propped the scope on an upside-down laundry basket, which somehow gave me a steadier view than the tripod ever did. Has anyone else rigged up a dumb fix that embarrassingly worked better than the real thing?
