Bought a $300 clipper set online that turned out to be junk

Saw an ad for these 'professional' cordless clippers with a bunch of guards and a fancy case. Spent about $300 on them thinking it was a good deal. The motor started bogging down after maybe ten haircuts, and the blades got hot and dull super fast. Has anyone found a good brand for cordless clippers that actually lasts?

My buddy had the same thing happen with a set he bought off a social media ad. They looked great in the box but the battery wouldn't hold a charge after a month. He ended up taking them apart and the wiring inside was a total mess, like it was put together in someone's garage. It really is a gamble with that stuff online.

Ugh, that's the worst! I got burned by a similar online deal for some "barber-grade" trimmers. They sounded like an angry bee and the battery died halfway through a simple fade. Total junk.
