TIL my $2 flea market toolbox had 23 sockets inside and that beat my $80 set
Everyone on here swears you need to spend real money on tools, but I counted the sockets in a rusty $2 toolbox I grabbed at a flea market in Akron last Saturday and got to 23. My $80 set from a big box store only has 19, and three of those are sizes I have never once used on a real job. Two of the flea market sockets are old Craftsmans from the 70s and the metal feels heavier than anything I own now. The box was so ugly the seller let me have it cheap just to get it off his table. So no, price tags do not tell you what is in the box, you have to actually dig. What is the best thing you have ever pulled out of a junk lot like that?
