A guy at my gym in Columbus told me he brings a drawstring bag just for the clothes he peels off mid workout, and I've been doing it for 6 weeks now
I used to pile jackets and hoodies on the floor next to the treadmill and lose a sock every single time, but keeping a $4 drawstring bag in my gym bag means everything comes home with me and nothing gets kicked under a machine, so does anyone else have a dumb little system like this that actually fixed a problem you'd had for years?
I had the same issue for years, just a growing pile of stuff on the floor and a lost pair of socks every couple months. The drawstring bag thing works but I'll add one step, keep a second small bag or even just a plastic grocery sack clipped inside your main bag for the gross sweaty stuff, because wet clothes sitting in a closed drawstring bag all day will stink up everything else in there. I also got in the habit of emptying the bag the second I get home instead of leaving it in the car, since that's how stuff turns into a science project. You can get a two pack of those cheap mesh ones at any store for basically nothing and the mesh lets things breathe a bit. Six weeks in you're already past the point where most people quit on a new system, so just keep it simple and don't buy anything fancy. The single biggest fix for me was just having one spot where the dirty clothes always go, no decisions, no thinking about it.
