The $15 harbor freight anvil stand I rigged up actually holds

I was skeptical about using a cheap anvil stand for my 110 pound anvil. After a month of heavy hammering on it in my garage in Peoria, it hasn't budged an inch. I added a couple of chain links and bolts to the base for extra grip on the concrete floor. Anyone else made a budget stand work, or is this just a matter of time before something cracks?

Noticed the same thing with my cheap welding cart and my lawn mower deck, cheap stuff often outlasts the fancy stuff because you actually take care of it and check the bolts. There is something about a guy in his garage adding chain links to a $15 stand that the engineers at some big company never thought of. Keep an eye on the welds every few months, but I bet that thing holds for years.
