Finally chose a tile strategy after 4 months of waffling

Between my group's speed-run style and our new player's casual vibe, I picked a hybrid approach using 90-second turns instead of full planning rounds. First game night with it went smoother than expected, the new guy actually won. Anyone else adjust their turn pacing to fit mixed experience levels at the table?
