Swapped my heavy euro stacks for a beat-up copy of Talisman after 15 years
I used to only play tight strategy games like Brass and Terra Mystica, but last month I picked up a 1983 Talisman board at a garage sale in Portland and now my group fights over the stupid dragon cards every Friday. Has anyone else traded their serious gaming pride for pure chaotic nostalgia and never looked back?
Oh man this hits home. My shelf used to be all Caylus and Agricola and now the box that gets grabbed first is a torn up copy of HeroQuest my brother found at a thrift store. There is something about rolling dice and hoping for the best that the tight games just can't give you, you know? Watching grown adults argue over a card draw is way more fun than watching them math out the best move for ten minutes. Strategy has its place but chaos with your friends beats a perfect plan any day.
