Switched from a dice tower to a rolling tray and my games got way faster
For about two years I was all in on dice towers. I even built one out of foam core with a little felt ramp, and I thought it made every roll feel more dramatic. Then last month at a game night in Rochester, a guy brought a simple wooden rolling tray that cost him $12, and we finished a full game of Wingspan in 70 minutes instead of our usual 95. The tower was always getting knocked over, dice would jam halfway down, and people kept reaching across the table to grab it. The tray just sits there, everyone rolls in the same spot, and no one has to stand up. I'm not saying towers are bad, but for our group of five, the tray wins. Has anyone else made this swap, or do you still swear by the tower?
