Counted every weld bead I laid this month and hit 847
That number really made me think about how many little seams we burn in without even noticing, has anyone else ever kept track of their total just for the heck of it?

What have you been welding mostly to rack up that kind of number? I tracked my TIG beads once during a big handrail job and hit somewhere around 600 in a month, and honestly it blew my mind. The funny thing is you don't really feel it until you're done and your wrist is killing you the next day. Each one of those beads is like a tiny decision on heat and speed and filler rod that you make without even thinking anymore. It really puts into PERSPECTIVE how much work goes into something that looks clean and simple when it's finished.

That's about 150 inches a day if you're working five days a week, which is pretty standard for stainless handrail work. 600 beads in a month sounds more like you were doing a lot of short tack welds or spot passes, not full inches of bead.
