Shoutout to the old hand in Mobile who caught my tube rolling mistake
I spent 6 years rolling tubes by eye, always figured I had a good enough feel for it. Then a guy named Ray at a job site in Mobile watched me work for about 10 minutes and said "son, you're rolling past the seat every single time." He handed me a feeler gauge and showed me my wall thickness was off by .008 on every joint. Now I check with the gauge on the first 3 tubes and it's saved me who knows how many re-rolls. Anyone else get set straight by a guy with 30 plus years who barely said two words?
