Warning: Hand welding vs machine welding on a pressure vessel job last week

I had to fix a flange on a 200 psi boiler last Thursday. The old hand weld looked okay but I ran a dye test and found two pinholes. I switched to a machine welder for the repair and it passed hydro on the first try with zero leaks. The difference was the machine kept a steady arc while my hand gets shaky after 8 hours. Has anyone else had a machine weld save them from a redo?

Oh man, nothing like a robot saving your bacon because your hands said "nope" after lunch.
