Hit 500 spine repairs this month and my hands are wrecked
I've been binding books for about 2 years now, mostly doing spine repairs for old library rejects. Somehow I did 500 repairs this month without really tracking it, just grinding through stacks. Has anyone else here hit a weird milestone like that where you step back and realize how much work you actually did?

500 repairs in one month? How many hours a day were you actually working to hit that number? Were you doing full rebacking or just hinge repairs and corner work?

My coffee intake that month was honestly a bigger achievement than the repairs, not sure my heart rate has fully recovered yet! I was doing a mix of everything but most of those were hinge repairs and corner work, the full rebacking jobs took way longer so I tried to batch those separately. Probably averaged 10-12 hour days with a lot of quick turnaround stuff where I just glued and clamped and prayed the customer wouldn't look too close at the edges. My back still hurts thinking about it, but hey, at least I paid for my car insurance that month!
