Best Wednesday I've had in years thanks to a random rainstorm
Last month I was out on a job in Concord and the skies just opened up out of nowhere around 2pm. I had to call it quits early because the ground got too slick to safely climb. Ended up sitting on a porch with the homeowner drinking coffee and talking about native plants for like two hours. She pointed out a red oak that had this perfect crotch angle I'd never noticed before. Anyone else have surprise downtime that turned into something cool?

Getting to just sit and talk with a homeowner like that is a rare gift. Those two hours probably taught you way more about that property than any inspection could have. Native plants are such a rabbit hole once you start noticing them everywhere. It's funny how a rainstorm can force you to slow down and see things you walk past every day.

Gotta push back a little on that. Sitting around talking plants for two hours is nice once in awhile, but it's not always a rare gift. Sometimes you're just stuck and making the best of it, not learning some deep secret about the property.
