Bought a $35 office chair off Marketplace and the gas lift died in 11 days
It held air fine in the seller's garage but started sinking a half inch an hour by day 9, and now at day 11 I'm sitting on a stack of two phone books with a cinder block under the seat plate, so has anyone actually fixed one of these cylinders or do I just eat the $35?
Did the seller act like it was fine and you just got unlucky? I picked up a $40 chair last year that lasted about two weeks before it started dropping, and I did the same phone book thing until I gave up. From what I read the gas cylinder is sealed and not really something you can fix, so you can either buy a replacement cylinder kit for like $20 or just toss it and call the $35 a lesson.
