My root cellar flooded after 3 days of rain in Worcester, here's what worked
Last October we got dumped on, I mean 6 inches in 72 hours, and my so called dry root cellar turned into a wading pool. All my squash and potatoes were sitting in 2 inches of water, and the smell was something else. I ended up racing to grab a $40 utility pump from Tractor Supply, but honestly the real fix was digging a simple drainage trench away from the foundation with a rented Ditch Witch, which cost me $85 for the day. Has anyone else tried those cheap plastic French drain kits, or do you just rely on grading and gravel like my neighbor Bill swears by?
