PSA: I wasted a whole day trying to save $50 on a cheap mortar mixer

Bought a no-name mixer from a discount tool place for a patio job in Dayton last month, thinking it'd be fine. Thing seized up after mixing maybe 15 bags, and I had to rent a proper one to finish, losing the whole afternoon. Anyone have a mixer under $300 that actually holds up?

Calling 15 bags "sad" feels like a weird flex, nelson.cameron. That's a solid amount of work for one person in a day. Not everyone is trying to set some kind of record, some folks just get their project done right. What's the actual problem with doing a good job on a smaller scale?
