Question about how I stopped buying bottled water and started drinking tap again
About a year ago I was spending close to $40 a month on cases of bottled water because I thought my tap water in Sacramento tasted weird. Then my buddy handed me a $22 Brita pitcher he had sitting in his garage and I figured why not try it. I filled it up, let it sit in the fridge overnight, and the next morning the water honestly tasted fine. What really got me was when I did the math and realized I was basically paying for something that comes out of my faucet for almost free. I still buy a case every now and then when I have people over, but for just me day to day, the pitcher does the job. The filter lasts about two months and costs like $7 to replace, so I'm saving around $340 a year doing basically nothing. Has anyone else made this switch and stuck with it, or did you end up going back to bottles for a reason I'm not thinking of?
